I Only Look Like I Disappeared

Wow, my last post was way back in July. I guess it looks like I disappeared in the fog or something!

Actually, things have been going quite well on this end. The practice is growing, and I've fallen in love with Counseling again. I can't tell you how great it is to work with someone one-on-one, at their pace, without someone from the administrative staff overscheduling and monitoring productivity levels.

Sure, there are a lot of pitfalls with going into private practice. The first one is that it takes a lot longer to launch things than I ever anticipated. Blogging, advertising, and constant planning. My partner, Julie, and I used to have a running joke that we didn't have time for clients because we're too busy getting clients. Sadly, there's a little bit of truth to that…

Looking forward to 2023; it looks like things are settling down a bit. If you're thinking about getting into counseling and finding someone to talk to about whether or not you have a drinking or a drug problem, now is a good time to actually do it. New Year's eve is notorious for making resolutions for the things you want to change in the coming year. I also have more availability throughout the week, and I also have a few slots open on Saturdays.

I don't blame you if you'd rather think about it for a while. It's a big step to make. In the meantime, I will be doing more writing on this blog, so stay tuned. I definitely won't be waiting six months to post something! So, this is a big thank you to everyone that is supported counseling and supervision services over the past year. We really appreciate the clients we've been able to work with, and we also look forward to meeting with the clients we haven't talked to yet.

If you are one of them, please reach out, and let's get something scheduled. I have a feeling things are about to get a bit busier…

Much respect!

-Scott
